Replacement of POT-PTFE bearings

A 25-meter-high major bridge with 3 x 20 mtr spans on both LHS and RHS, wherein the defective 48 nos POT-PTFE bearings need to be replaced, which was a challenging task of reaching and lifting the span under traffic conditions, and removing the old bearing and replacing with new bearings maintaining and aligning the levels with approach.

Methodology:

Scaffolding: making of 25 mtr. High platform around the piers.
Lifting of bridge span: With appropriate jacks and lifting with hydraulic power pump.
Removing the old bearings: Placing of jacks and necessary supports (wooden/Steel) .
Replacing and Lowering: Replacing the old bearings with new ones and checking levels aligning with approach.
